(Many scientists today place lichens and fungi in a kingdom of their own, no longer calling them plants at all.) Ibid.
Man is not careful with his treasures. He has always wasted, has always thrown away as much or more than he has kept. Ibid.
Everything that comes to the forest adds to it and is added to, made more whole, more complex because of the life that stirs there in one grand mix. Ibid.
I shall continue to go to the forests and walk in them and listen and fill myself with their greatness and quiet. Ibid.
