Jeff Meets Mr. Hand: The Debriefing

The original screenplay and the TV edit of the film include a scene where Jeff Spicoli describes his confrontation with Mr. Hand to his stoner buds in the holiest of stoner sanctuaries, the bathroom. The scene was shot with the original screenplay dialog which is quite profane. However, for the TV version of the film, dubbing was used to, among other things, change a description of Mr. Hand to "fuzzy nerd" from something a little more colorful. Below are excerpts from this scene with the origial dialog from the screenplay. Unfortunately, no version of the film faithful to the original screenplay is publicly available. 

Stoner Bud #1:  It was so bitchin' mon.  Everybody is talking about it.


Stoner Bud #2:  Totally.


Spicoli:        The motherfucker pissed me off!


Stoner Bud #2:  Totally.  You don't have to take that shit.


Spicoli:        I didn't take that shit!


Stoner Bud #1:  Tell us again.  What happened after he ripped up your ad card?


Spicoli:        I called him a dick.  And then I reached for his class
                notes, and I ripped 'em up.  I said, 'Hey bud.  Two can 
                play this game.'


Spicoli:        I'll tell you this.  If he hassles me again, I can't be 
                responsible for what happens...You know why?


Stoner Bud #1:  Because he's a fuckin' dick!


Spicoli:         You got it!


Spicoli:         Gimme a dollar.


One bud digs out a dollar for Spicoli.  They look out at lunch court, 
see it teeming with straight kids.  They turn and walk towards the 
parking lot.
