Fastelavn
The Scandinavian Club celebrates Fastelavn each year. It's an old Danish holiday that includes costuming. Christian Gilbert was one of the kids who got into an alter-ego for the event. He's dressed as the terminator (a character played by an Austrian actor, but the costumes don't need to reflect Scandinavian heritage).
Kids had fun breaking open a large paper mache' ball that contained candy. It's something that's best-known as a pinata in the United States. Here Emily Skarsten (dressed as Snow White) gets in a good solid whack.
Adults attended in a variety of costumes, including Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky (Pentti and Pamela Lehtonen) and an Oriental Couple (Aira Kekäle and Alan Reid)
