We spent a long weekend in Arizona.
Friday, April 8 - Flew Southwest Airlines from Buffalo to Phoenix, and stayed the night in Anthem, a northern suburb.
April 9 - Drove around Anthem in the rain, looking at cacti.
Headed north along I-17 into a band of snow. Lunch in Cottonwood, then walked around Tuzigoot, the ruins of an ancient Sinagua village.

William refused to walk round Red Rock state park in the snow.
Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona.
Arrived in Flagstaff. Dinner at Oregano's Pizza Bistro, where powerful ceiling heaters battled the chill coming from outside.
April 10 - Lunch at the El Tovar Hotel on the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Someone had built a snowman on the wall at the canyon edge.
William works on his scowling for the camera.
April 11 - Walked around ancient cliff dwellings at Walnut Creek State Park.
Walnut Canyon.
Then saw Meteor Crater (name is self-explanatory).

Headed down to Scottsdale for warmer weather. William enjoyed an outside pool at the hotel.
Tuesday, April 12 - Flight back to Buffalo from Phoenix.
