I was a Morse intercept operator in the Air Force from 1962-1965.
I was stationed on Okinawa and Crete but both those installations are now
defunct. I used to be able to copy about 40 words a minute, but I'm sure
20-25 would be my limit now. I occasionally can pick up some code on my
short-wave radio, but not very often. Thanks for the page.

It's a great place to let new and old hams review the proper operating
procedures of CW and a refresher on the Q codes. I plan on forwarding your
page to other hams in the neighborhood. I first held a novice license in
the 60's and let it expire. Thoughs days you only had a year before you
had to upgrade or loose it. I know hold a General license and just recently
passed my 20wpm code test. Your comments and suggestions on how to increase
your code speed are right on track. I love CW and rarely pick up a microphone
unless it's on 2 meters or 220MHz. Keep up the good work. 73, Buddy

up watching his dad do the same thing. my grandfather was a radio operator
for the merchant marine-i guess my dad just did it because he liked it.
my grandfather passed away last year...ever since then i've wanted to learn
code. i'm hoping for a website that lets me practice by clicking my mouse!

to follow established procedure and be relaxed on the air.. This page is

Hi Jack, I was a Ham back in 1958 - 1960's, K1PXW. I was one of
the younger Ham's of that time (10 years old). As I grew into my teens,
other interest came to me and I let my license lapse. I'm now in my 50's
and the "bug" for Ham radio is still with me. I'm going to try to get my
license back but realize that I need to brush up on my code in order to
do this. Your book will certainly help.

Jack, Great website and a great service to Amateur Radio. I have
had my license for 10 years (novice) and now that it is about to expire
I feel I want to get a ham setup running. I have just renewed online at
FCC. Believe it or not I never did get on the air the first 10 years. Your
page on CW was just what I was looking for. I sure will bookmark this website.
I will be looking for a reasonable QRP-low transceiver. I'm 61 years old
and have been interested since I was 17 years old guess it's time I got
it done. Thanks very much for a great info site.

As a Speech Pathologist and daughter of a Ham operator, I was looking
for a copy of the Morse Code for one of my students who is working on root
words. Tele- is one of the roots and he hadn't the foggiest idea what a
telegraph key is and had never heard of the Morse Code. He's in eighth
grade! I thought it'd be interesting to actually have him learn to write
a few messages in Morse Code. My dad is loaning me his key, but has to
search for a written copy of the code. I thought I might be lucky doing
a search. Oh, well...you're web site is very informative and I'll give
the address the my student if he seems interested. CTD 1/8/00
